In-store repairs Walk-ins welcome 777 Bay St, concourse level

Phone repair for every brand, in the heart of downtown

Your phone is the one device you cannot afford to be without — it holds your work chats, your banking, your photos, your transit pass. When it breaks in downtown Toronto, you don't want to mail it away for a week or navigate a manufacturer support maze. You want to walk into a shop, hand it to someone who knows phones, and walk out with it working again.

That is exactly what College Park Wireless is: a walk-in phone repair shop at 777 Bay St., on the concourse level next to Dollarama. We repair iPhones, Samsung Galaxy phones, Google Pixels, Motorola, OnePlus and other Android phones — screens, batteries, charging ports, back glass, cameras, speakers and more. All repairs are done in-store at our 777 Bay St. shop — we don't offer remote support or phone unlocking.

The phone repairs we do most

Most phone problems fall into a handful of categories. Here is what comes across our counter every day:

Screen replacement

Cracked glass, dead touch spots, lines or flickering, or a fully black display. Screen replacement is our most common repair across all brands. The display assembly is swapped as a unit and fully tested — touch, brightness, colours, front camera — before the phone goes back to you.

Battery replacement

A phone that dies by mid-afternoon, shuts off suddenly in cold weather, charges only to a certain percentage, or has a screen pushing away from the frame (a possible swollen battery) needs a new battery. If your phone is more than a couple of years old and the battery has never been changed, this single repair often makes it feel new again.

Charging port repair

If your cable only charges at certain angles, keeps disconnecting, or won't go in properly, the charging port may be worn, bent, or packed with lint. Sometimes a careful cleaning resolves it; sometimes the port itself needs replacing. Bring your cable and charger with you so we can rule out the easy causes on the spot.

Back glass replacement

Shattered back glass is sharp, ugly, and lets dust toward internal parts. For iPhones we remove broken back glass with our laser machine and fit a clean replacement; for Samsung and other glass-back phones we replace the rear panel as well.

Cameras, speakers and microphones

Blurry photos, a camera that won't focus, no sound on calls, or a microphone that cuts out — these are component-level repairs we handle in-store. Tell us exactly what you notice and we will trace it to the faulty part.

How to tell what repair your phone needs

You don't need to diagnose your phone yourself — that is our job when you walk in. But knowing the symptoms helps you describe the problem, and in a few cases the right first step matters:

  • Screen looks broken but touch works: likely just the glass/display assembly. Straightforward screen replacement.
  • Touch has dead spots or the picture has lines: the display layers underneath are damaged. Still a screen replacement, but mention the touch issues so we test thoroughly.
  • Phone dies fast or shuts off randomly: classic battery wear. If the phone is also getting warm or the screen is lifting, stop charging it and bring it in promptly — a swollen battery needs careful handling.
  • Won't charge properly: try a different cable and wall plug first. If it still only charges at an angle, the port is the likely culprit.
  • Got wet: turn it off immediately, do not plug it in, and bring it to the shop as soon as you can. The sooner a wet phone is opened and dried properly, the better its chances. We assess the damage honestly and tell you whether repair makes sense.
  • Won't turn on at all: it could be the battery, the charging circuit, the display, or something deeper. We work through the possibilities at the bench and explain what we find before any work starts.

What happens when you walk in

  1. You describe the problem; we test the phone. Tell us what happened and what you notice. We check the obvious causes first — sometimes a "broken" phone just needs a cleaning or a different cable, and we will tell you that.
  2. You get a clear quote before anything starts. We explain what the repair involves, what part your phone needs, and what it costs. Nothing happens until you say yes.
  3. The repair happens at our bench, in the store. Your phone never leaves the shop. Screens, batteries, ports and back glass are all physical part swaps done right here.
  4. You test it before you pay. Touch, display, cameras, charging, speakers — check everything in your own hands. If something isn't right, we make it right on the spot.

What affects the price of a phone repair

Phone repair pricing is not one-size-fits-all. The main factors:

  • Brand and model. Flagship phones use more expensive displays and parts than budget models, and newer generations cost more than older ones.
  • Part availability. Parts for the most popular iPhone, Samsung and Pixel models are easy to source; parts for rarer or older models can cost more or take longer to get.
  • How much is damaged. A clean cracked screen is one job. A cracked screen plus a bent frame or a damaged camera is a bigger job. We check everything up front so the quote you get is the real one.
  • The part option you choose. For common models we may carry more than one part option at different price points. We explain the differences plainly and let you decide.

Text us your phone's brand, model and symptoms at (647) 326-3848 and we will give you a quote for your specific phone.

What affects how long a repair takes

Timing depends on your phone model, whether the part is on hand, and what the check-up finds beyond the obvious damage. A common screen or battery job on a popular model is quick bench work; a rare model, a part that must be ordered, or extra damage found during inspection takes longer. Call or text (647) 326-3848 before visiting and we will give you an honest estimate for your phone — we would rather be straight with you than rush a promise.

What to bring for your phone repair

  • Your phone and its passcode. We need past the lock screen to test everything after the repair. Change the passcode back when you leave.
  • A backup, if possible. Most repairs don't touch your data, but backing up to the cloud or a computer beforehand is always smart.
  • Your charger and cable if you have any charging complaints — it lets us rule out accessories immediately.
  • The box and accessories only if you are also thinking of selling or trading the phone — see our sell-my-phone page for how that works.

Why repair in-store instead of mailing your phone away

Mail-in repair means days without your phone, shipping risk, and no one to talk to if something goes wrong. Manufacturer service often means appointments, long waits, and full device wipes. A neighbourhood walk-in shop means you keep your phone until the moment the repair starts, you approve the quote face to face, and you test the result before you pay. Our downtown location at 777 Bay St. is built for exactly that: walk in on your lunch break or after work, and deal with a real person at a real counter.

Good to know: phone repair is hands-on work — screens, batteries and ports are physical parts. Any "service" that claims to repair your phone remotely, over the phone or by software alone, cannot replace a broken part. Real repair happens in person, at a bench, in a shop like ours.
